Garibaldi FX Silk Screened Ceramic Frit
View the Project Gallery The Freedom of Ceramic Frit

If you can visualize it, you can create it on Silk-screened Ceramic Frit glass.

With a multitude of decorative uses, Ceramic Frit permanently embeds your design right into glass using a chemically and mechanically stable enamel baking process that cannot be scratched away.

Every piece is produced in our proprietary clean room to ensure flawless colour and design every time.

Applications

Ceramic frit can be applied to the number 2, 3, or 4 surface to create an appearance that will suit your application for either spandrel or vision areas.

Silk-screened ceramic frit has the following characteristics:

  • Improves solar control performance
  • Reduces reflection and glare
  • Decreases solar transmission

Garibaldi silk-screened frit can be applied to the #2 surface for insulated glass units, or the #3 and #4 surface for spandrel application. When applied as a spandrel, solar absorption is increased and a higher shading coefficient results.

Design

Ceramic frit paint colours come in an almost endless variety. Coupled with a pattern of your designation, the results are limitless. Garibaldi silk-screened glass produces an aesthetically pleasing look on all buildings.

We offer standard or custom colours, however, if a colour match is required please contact our sales team for further details.

We offer the following standard colours:

  • Hi-Opaci White
  • Black
  • Etch

Silk-screened glass offers the designer more options, yet does not sacrifice the performance of the glass.

Standard Design Options

Garibaldi Glass Industries offers dots, lines, reverse dots, and prismatic squares. Custom patterns can be produced to your design needs, thus giving the designer a greater flexibility.

Our standard screens are the following:

  1/8" (3mm) lines on 1/4" (6mm) centers - 50% coverage
  1/8" (3mm) dots on 1/4" (6mm) centers, staggered - 40% coverage
  1/8" (3mm) reverse dots on 1/4" (6mm) centers, staggered - 60% coverage
  3/16" (5mm) prismatic squares on 5/8" (15mm) centers - 10% coverage
Full flood coat - 100% coverage

Silk-Screen Glass Specifications
  • The maximum screen size available is 84" x 160"
  • Color and/or opacity may vary from lot due to slight variances in paint thickness but shall fall within acceptable commercial match standards.
  • Print definitions of line width or distance shall not exceed ±1/32 inch.
  • A 3/8" (10mm) border may remain in a full coverage glass panel
  • Glass dimensions and squareness tolerances may have an effect on patterns. Patterns may be ±1/8 inch off from locating edge.

Design Approval

We suggest that mockups for large projects are produced so that designers and architects can ensure real environmental conditions (sun glare and building reflection), the aesthetic quality meets their needs prior to project production.
